Die D8 EL habe ich aus Ebay. Die D8 EL 220V ist eine recht seltene Maschine. Mehr als ein paar hundert wurden sicher nicht hergestellt. Die Exportversion mit 110V war viel häufiger. Die D8 ist bis auf den kleineren Kessel baugleich mit der D12. Die D8el wurde nur in Ära IV hergestellt. Sie war von den Namens änderungen Mitte der 1980er Jahre nicht betroffen. Es gibt also keine D81.
Die Maschine ist sehr gut gepflegt worden und eine Restaurierung war nicht erforderlich.
Tis D8el is an ebay win. The D8el 220V is a rather rare engine. There have been never more than a few hundred. The D8el 110V, the export model, was far more common. The D8 is very similar to the D12 with the exception of the far bigger boiler of the D12. The D8el was produced in era IV only and had nothing to do with the name changes of Wilesco in the mid 1980s. Because of that there are no D81s.
The engine is in very good condition and no restoring had to be done.
Die Maschine läuft sehr gut. Man muß sich allerdings etwas daran gewöhnen dass die elektrische Heizspirale noch drei bis vier Minuten nachheizt und der Kesseldruck dadurch nur sehr langsam nachläßt, anders als bei "feuerbetriebenen" Maschinen.
Ich habe nichts an ihr auszusetzen und sie wird sicher öfter laufen. Der geringere Kesselinhalt als bei der D12 EL begrenzt die Laufzeit und damit den Spaßfaktor nicht wirklich erheblich.
The engine is a good runner. One has to accustom oneself to the fact that electrically heated engines still produce steam for some minutes after the power is cut.
I find no fault with her and steam her up quite often. The smaller boiler of the D8 against the D12 does not limit the fun she provides.
