Die D32 ist die größte Maschine, die Wilesco gebaut hat. Sie hat zwei Zylinder und einige Zusatzteile auf der Grundplatte aufgebaut. Eine auskuppelbare Transmission und eine Wasserpumpe, die zur Kesselspeisung benutzt werden kann, sowie ein Drehzahlmesser machen die Maschine sehr attraktiv. Ein paar D32 hatten einen Generator montiert. Die Maschine wird schon lange nicht mehr hergestellt und ist ein gesuchtes Sammlerstück, das entsprechend teuer ist.
Ich habe meine Maschine von Privat erhalten. Sie ist etwas mitgenommen und hat unter dem Alter gelitten. Das Aggregat ist in Ordnung. Nach Austausch des Dampfventils läuft sie hervorragend. Die Pumpe ist defekt und muss ersetzt werden sobald ich ein Ersatzteil finden kann. Die Feder des Fliehkraftreglers ist ausgeleiert und muss ebenfalls ersetzt werden.
Die elektrische Heizung funktioniert und wie sie das tut. Ohne Last wird mehr Dampf produziert als die Zylinder aufarbeiten und das Sicherheitsventil bläßt ständig ab.
The D32 is the biggest engine Wilesco made. She has a twin cylinder aggregate and some very interesting features. There is a disengageable clutch, a water pump that can be used to feed water to the boiler and a revolution counter that is controled by the governer. All that features make the D28 a dream for a toy steam enthusiast. Some of the D32s had a geberator mounted on the base plate. Te production ceased a long time ago and therefore the engine is a rare collectors item and rather expensive.
I got my engine from a fellow collector. She is slightly battered and one can see how old she is. The aggregate is fully operational but the pump is defective as is the spring of the governor. After the change of the steam valve the engine runs like clappers. I am still looking for a replacement pump.
The powerful electrical heating (1350W) is more than enough to produce steam. Without load the boiler makes more steam than the cylinders can use even with full revolutions.

Die Maschine läuft sehr gut. Kraft ist im Überfluß vorhanden. Bei Betrieb ohne Last pendelt sich der Kesseldruck bei ca. 2bar ein bei blasendem Federsicherheitsventil und leicht blasendem Gewichtssicherheitsventil. Der Kesseldruck wurde mit einem Regner Manometer gemessen, das verläßlicher ist als ein Spielzeugmanometer. Im Laufe der Jahre hat sie etwas gelitten. Ein paar Lackschäden, etwas Rost, aber das gibt ihr auch die Patina, die ich sehr gerne mag. Die kleinen Mängel können mit der Zeit abgestellt werden. Ich mag die Maschine gerne. Ein wahres Monster. Der Sound alleine ist ein Genuß.
Ich habe Maschinen, die noch besser laufen und die ich noch mehr mag, aber die D32 ist zweifellos die Königin meiner Sammlung. Sehr schade das sie nicht mehr gebaut wird.
The engine is an excellent runner. She has tremendous power. If running without load the boiler pressure stabilizes at a pressure of about 2bar (30psi). The spring safety valve is blowing and the lever valve is slightly blowing. The pressure was meassured with a Regner pressure gauge wich is more reliable than a toy manometer. The engine was fired up very often and because of that shows signs of aging. I like that patina because it tells a kind of story. The defects can be corrected by and by as spare parts may show up. I like that engine dearly. A real monster. The sound of that powerful twin cylinder engine running is pleasure.
I own engines that may run smoother and engines I like even more but surely the D32 is the Queen of my collection. Sadly this engines are no longer manufactured.
